Volunteer Opportunities
Health Science Lab Assistants help prep labs, assist junior scholars with math worksheets and science techniques and promotes energetic environments
Family Date Day Dining Assistants assist families during their healthier alternative cooking and physical activity sessions while promoting family engagement experiences
The Wealthy Heart program’s Burgers and Blood Pressures require a full team to offer free heart health screenings, heart health meal prep and distribution of resources to promote healthier living. This is the first event to welcome participant into the Wealthy Heart program so high energy and dissemination of information is essential.
Volunteer Position Description
Please note: All team members will have an opportunity to select a position for each event. We will do our best to accommodate requests. There’s a chance that you could start off in one position and switch to another throughout the event.
Traffic Control
Assist with directing traffic into and around the drive-thru. We need energetic and excited people for this position considering you’re the first person to greet the Wealthy Heart guests!
Registration
Greet guests and check that they are registered. We need energetic and excited people for this position considering you will be the first or second person greeting the Wealthy Heart guests! We always aim to make a lasting first impression. There will be a paper registration list or an electronic list. For electronic, an electronic source will be provided or a free app will need to be downloaded to your phone during the event & an external charger will be provided.
Education and Incentive Dissemination
Pass out education and incentives to guests as they make their way through the mobile health drive-thru.
Medical Professional
Medical professionals and students conduct blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, provide education and resources.
Medical Assistant
Help with cleaning and managing equipment, runner for medical supplies and dissemination of information.
Dining Assistant
Family Date Days Dining Assistant assists families with creating meals during family engagement events .
Wealthy Heart’s Burgers and Blood Pressures Dining Assistants take meals from the grill to participant’s cars during drive thru health screening events.
