Our Founders
Hands-On Health was co-founded by twin sisters and pharmacists Drs. Jennifer and Jessica Macklin (also known as Drs. Tymes 2) from Cleveland, Ohio. Both sisters are passionate about serving under-resourced communities by providing tools to encourage individuals to live at their highest potential through hands-on heart health education and nutrition. As first-generation college graduates with firsthand knowledge and experiences of generational health and education inequalities, they feel a purpose and obligation to share their knowledge from the opposite side of the pharmacy counter in the community. Their approach focuses on addressing the root causes of disparities rather than merely placing a band-aid on the issues.
Their natural passion for improving quality of life through nontraditional health education and advocacy has allowed them to be trusted health professionals. The duo has left their mark on syndicated daytime television shows such as Dr. Oz and The Steve Harvey Show and magazine publications such as Drug Topics and Drug Store, to name a few.
The sisters are licensed in four states and have been blessed with the opportunity to have lived and gained pharmacy experience from all over the country: Orlando, Los Angeles, Chicago, Milwaukee, and NYC, but as we all know, there’s no place like home! The sisters are excited and proud to have started Hands-On Health in their hometown of Cleveland, OH. They are so grateful for all the family, friends, volunteers, partners, funders, and community members who have helped Hands-On Health be the organization it is today and look forward to the continued support from all who will help the organization move the mission forward.
Drs. Jenn and Jess believe if you can see it, you can be it. They encourage everyone to follow their dreams no matter how big they seem. They sure are!
